Judge Harrington was born in Butte, Montana. He received his B.A. (in biology) from Gonzaga University and a B.S.B.A. (major in accounting) from the University of Arizona. He attended Gonzaga University School of Law where he received his J.D. (magna cum laude).
Judge Harrington began his professional career in Arizona with the law firm of Bilby Shoenhair, and then with Snell & Wilmer when the two firms merged. He practiced with the law firm of Chandler, Tullar, Udall & Redhair from 1990-99, where he was a partner. His practice emphasized civil litigation and trials. He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Federal District Courts in Arizona, and the Arizona State Courts.
Judge Harrington was appointed to the Pima County Superior Court Bench in 1999 through the Arizona Merit Selection system. He is currently serving as the Probate Bench Presiding Judge. He has also served on the Civil Bench, Civil Bench Presiding Judge, the Juvenile Court Bench and the Criminal Bench.
